Isabelle Harrison was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul on Angel Reese as Atlanta beat Toronto 102-77 and improved to 9-4.
Toronto Tempo forward Isabelle Harrison was ejected Sunday after dragging Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese to the floor during a heated third-quarter possession, a Flagrant 2 foul that became the flashpoint in Atlanta’s 102-77 win in Toronto.
The incident came with the Dream leading by 10 as Reese and Harrison fought for position under the basket. After Reese caught an entry pass in the paint and began to move toward the rim, Harrison pulled her down. Reese got up angry, and players from both teams stepped in to separate them before officials assessed the Flagrant 2 and removed Harrison from the game.
Harrison was seen laughing as she headed back to the locker room. The two players had been physical throughout the game and had exchanged trash talk, according to the Fox News report, which cited The Associated Press.
Atlanta controlled the broader game as well as the moment. Reese finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds, including a career-high 11 offensive boards. That left her one offensive rebound short of tying the WNBA single-game record.
Allisha Gray led the Dream with 26 points and seven assists, while Rhyne Howard added 24 points and six rebounds. The win moved Atlanta to 9-4 and fourth in the standings.
Harrison had 17 points and three rebounds before her ejection, still enough to lead Toronto in scoring. Julie Allemand had 13 points and six assists, and Maria Conde added 12 points off the bench.
The Tempo fell to 7-7 with the loss and sit ninth in the standings, a half-game behind the Los Angeles Sparks for the final playoff spot.
