Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have ended their relationship after nearly three years, according to reporting cited by BBC News.
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have ended their relationship after nearly three years together, according to BBC News, citing a report from People.
The split reportedly happened quietly several months ago. A source told People the pair had given the decision “lots of time and careful consideration” and remain friends and supportive of each other. BBC News reported that it had asked representatives for Grande and Slater for comment.
Grande, 32, and Slater, 34, met in 2023 while filming the screen adaptation of the stage musical Wicked in the UK. Grande played Glinda, while Slater appeared as Boq Woodsman, a character who later becomes the Tin Man.
The relationship became public on Instagram in 2024, and the two later appeared together during promotional events for Wicked and its sequel, Wicked: For Good . Both stars also finalised divorces from former partners during their time together.
The breakup comes as Grande returns to live performance. Last weekend, she began her long-awaited Eternal Sunshine tour, her first since 2019. The tour follows the release of the Eternal Sunshine album three years ago and comes ahead of her forthcoming album Petal , which is due next month and has been preceded by the single Hate That I Made You Love Me.
Grande has focused more heavily on acting in recent years and received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress for her role in the first Wicked film. Slater was nominated with the Wicked ensemble for outstanding performance by a cast at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and previously earned a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut as SpongeBob SquarePants.
Neither Grande nor Slater has publicly issued a statement in the captured reporting, leaving any further comment to come from the performers or their representatives.
