Dolly Parton canceled her previously postponed Las Vegas residency after saying her health is improving but she is not yet performance-ready.

Dolly Parton has canceled her planned Las Vegas residency after saying she is still recovering from health problems and is not yet ready to return to the stage.

In a video posted to social media Monday, the 80-year-old country star said she has been dealing with immune and digestive issues as well as chronic kidney stones. She said she has been responding well to medications and treatment and is "improving every day," but still needs time before she is "stage-performance ready."

The decision ends, at least for now, a six-date run at The Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace that had already been postponed from December 2025 to September 2026 because of what Parton described as health challenges.

"I've still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!" Parton said in announcing the cancellation.

Parton apologized to fans who had tickets for the Las Vegas shows and encouraged them to enjoy the city anyway, saying she would see them elsewhere in the future.

She also made clear that the cancellation does not mean she is stepping away from work. Parton said she is still recording music, making videos, visiting Dollywood, writing a Broadway musical and working to open a museum and hotel in Nashville later this year.

The Las Vegas run would have been her first extended stay on the Strip since the 1990s, when she performed with Kenny Rogers. The shows were expected to draw on a catalog that includes country and crossover hits such as "Jolene," "9 to 5," "Coat of Many Colors" and "I Will Always Love You."

No replacement Las Vegas dates were announced in the supplied reports. For now, Parton’s message to fans is that her recovery is moving in the right direction, but the stage will have to wait.
