David and Victoria Beckham’s combined wealth has reached an estimated £1.185bn, making him the UK’s first billionaire sportsman, according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List.

The figure places the former Manchester United and England captain second among the United Kingdom’s wealthiest sportspeople, behind the family of former Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, whose wealth was calculated at £2bn. The designation is based on the Rich List compilers’ estimate of the Beckhams’ collective wealth.

Beckham, 51, retired from playing in 2013 and is now a co-owner of Inter Miami, which the list values at £1.07bn and describes as Major League Soccer’s most valuable club. He also holds brand ambassador roles with companies including Adidas and Hugo Boss.

His football career remains central to his public profile. Beckham captained England and won the Premier League and Champions League with Manchester United before spells at Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

Victoria Beckham’s wealth has largely come from her fashion label. She first became famous as a member of the Spice Girls before building a fashion business under her own name.

Other major sports names also appear high on the list. Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is fifth among sports figures with an estimated £435m, while golfer Rory McIlroy is seventh at £325m. Boxer Anthony Joshua is eighth with £240m, one place ahead of Tyson Fury at £162m. England football captain Harry Kane and former Wimbledon champion Andy Murray are joint 10th at £110m each.

The 2026 list also shows changes among sports-linked business figures. Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe fell in the overall UK rankings after his fortune decreased by £1.85bn to £15.194bn. Promoters Barry and Eddie Hearn joined Britain’s billionaire club, with their combined wealth estimated at £1.035bn.

The Rich List figures are estimates, but the latest ranking marks a new milestone for Beckham’s post-playing career, combining the value of football investments, endorsements and Victoria Beckham’s fashion business.
